Cookies will typically contain the name of the domain from which the cookie has come, the “lifetime” of the cookie, and a value, usually a randomly generated unique number. Two types of cookies are used on this web site – session cookies, which are temporary cookies that remain in the cookie file of your browser until you leave the site, and persistent cookies, which remain in the cookie file of your browser for much longer (though how long will depend on the lifetime of the specific cookie).

Legal Update
From 26 May 2012, all websites are under an obligation to expressly obtain your consent to download cookies onto your computer for any reason other than where it is “strictly necessary” to download cookies onto your computer. It will be ‘strictly necessary’ to download a cookie on to your computer in order to complete a request made by you, e.g. to process payment of for goods/services purchased by you, to add our website to your ‘favourites’ or to enable you to subscribe to our newsletter where you have requested to do so. In order to comply with these rules, we will expressly request your consent where we need to download any cookies onto your computer for services where it is not strictly necessary to do so.
How will we ask for your consent?
When you visit our website for the first time, a pop-up will appear advising you that we use cookies on our website, and that we may download cookies on to your computer during your visit. We will provide you with a link to this privacy policy for further information on the types of cookies we use, and provide you with the opportunity to ‘opt out’ of allowing us to download cookies on to your computer. The pop up will remain on your screen until you select one of the three options after which it will disappear. Should you choose not to opt out of cookies at that stage, you will be taken to have consented to our use of cookies on your computer. However, a link will remain at the bottom of our website at all times allowing you to opt out of cookies at any point should you wish to.
If you choose to opt out and prevent us from downloading cookies on to your computer this will affect your user experience of our website and we may not be able to offer you all the services on our website as a result. Therefore, in order to provide you with the best experience of our website and offer you all of our services, we would recommend not opting out of cookies.
