MASIA CAN PARES, Sant Pere de Ribes

Masia Can Pares is set in a semi-rural location offering guests a haven of peace and solitude and yet it’s still only a 10-minute drive to the nearby coastal towns of Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltru, both of which have beautiful sandy beaches and an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops to enjoy. The cosmopolitan city of Barcelona is just 40 minutes by car. 

The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities to experience the local culture with many small wineries and villages to explore nearby. The beautiful Garraf Natural Park surrounding the house has hundreds of kilometers of hiking and mountain bike trails.

All this considered, Masia Can Pares really does offer the perfect location for a family holiday or a group of friends spending time together, as well as a venue for corporate events, celebrations and retreats. 

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS

The sleeping capacity of Masia Can Pares is divided over all three buildings. The main house sleeps up to 10 guests. The White offers sleeping for an additional 6 guests and The Cottage can sleep 4. If more space is required then additional beds can be accommodated to provide sleeping for a further 4 guests for a combined total of 24.

Bedroom 6 + 7 in Cottage, Ground Floor

Bedroom 6 + 7 have a king size bed and share a bathroom with toilet, sink, bathtub with shower. There is a living with two sofas, kitchenette, terrace and airconditioning unit

Bedroom 8 + 9 + 10 in White House, Ground Floor

Bedroom 8 and Bedroom 9 have a king size bed, Bedroom 10 has 2 single beds. The three bedrooms share a bathroom with toilet, sink, bathtub with shower. There are two terraces with tables, chairs and lounge sofa. Kitchenette, laundry area, and there is an airconditioning unit

There are 6 bathrooms all with shower and toilet, plus 2 separate toilets.

INTERIOR

Masia Can Pares offers 700 sqm of internal living space, which has been thoughtfully and carefully restored by the current owners using only the very best natural materials. The original features of the farmhouse, such as exposed wooden beams, old stone walls and terracotta tiled floors, have been retained and cleverly blended together with newer enhancements and traditional furnishings, so that the original character of the old farmhouse is preserved but without compromising on modern standards of guest convenience and comfort.

The main house features a cavernous entrance hall, with two enormous stone arches and a cosy lounge with open fire. On the right of the entrance hall is the well stocked library, split over two levels. On the left is the delightful dining room with seating for up to 24 guests. The ground floor includes an office, with phone for local calls, iPod Dock and a spacious lounge area with plasma TV, DVD player and DVD library for adults and kids.

A sweeping staircase leads to the five bedrooms accommodated in the main house. Two of these bedrooms share a spacious bathroom. The master bedroom is also on this level and features an en-suite bathroom and private terrace of 25 m² with magnificent views over the vineyards. Two other bedrooms share a bathroom on this floor and also a 20 m² terrace. Located 15 meters from the main property is The White House, featuring its own terrace and private views – three more bedrooms are housed here. Thirty meters from the main villa is The Cottage, which has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and terrace and is perfect for couples with children.

GARDENS & OUTSIDE SPACES

The 20,000 sqm of beautiful Mediterranean gardens at Can Pares are there to be explored and enjoyed by guests. There are many cosy nooks and crannies to discover where you can just relax or disconnect with a book or maybe enjoy a drink and a chat. There is also a Bali lounge house with views over the pool and distant sea views, a pond and tranquil water fountain.

However, the centrepiece of the outside space has to be the magnificent 17m x 9m private swimming pool. After a swim you can sunbathe on one of the plentiful sun loungers that surround the pool or simply relax under a parasol. 

The property has a number of spaces at its disposition where large groups can comfortably dine and socialise together. Up to 200 guests can be accommodated for events. The main veranda has an outdoor dining table big enough for all guests providing welcome shade during the day as well as a great place to dine in the evening. There is a built in BBQ and other terraces and corners around the property to enjoy al-fresco dining or simply to relax and enjoy the views.

THINGS TO DO

There are so many ways to enjoy the days and nights at Masia Can Pares but you’ll find so much to experience and enjoy in the local area if you can drag yourself away.

The bustling seaside town of Sitges is just a 10-minute drive away. Sitges has just about everything you need on a holiday: sandy beaches, cool bars, quality restaurants, fashionable boutiques, festivals, fireworks, culture, nightlife and élan. 

Why not visit a local winery such as Torres, Finca Viladellops or Torre del Veguer right next door? The legendary Cava Houses of Freixenet and Cordoniu are not too far away and offer fascinating and insightful tours.

The wonderful cosmopolitan city of Barcelona with its world-class attractions is a 35-minute drive and can also be easily reached by train or bus.

For those looking for more energetic distractions the nearby Mediterranean coast with its golden sandy beaches and numerous marinas offers unlimited opportunities for water based sports and boat rentals. The house also has direct access to the Garraf Natural Park providing hundreds of kilometres of fantastic hiking, horse riding and mountain bike trails right on your doorstep. There is a tennis club in the nearest town and several good golf courses in the area.

There is a choice of theme parks and attractions within an hour or so drive including Port Aventura, one of the biggest in Europe.
