MASIA CASANOVA – Canyelles

Despite its beautiful rural location Barcelona airport is just 25 minutes away and within 35 minutes you can be in the heart of Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of Catalonia. In addition, the sandy beaches of the popular seaside resort of Sitges are just 10 minutes away.

The house is situated Garraf Natural Park, which offers hundreds of kilometers of hiking and mountain biking trails.

INTERIOR

The house has been thoughtfully and sympathetically designed to provide modern and hi-tec comforts, while the preservation of many original rustic features like wooden ceiling beams, exposed stone walls, tile flooring and open fireplaces ensures that the historical essence and charm of this magnificent property have been retained.

Masia Casanova offers 650 m2 of luxurious living space consisting of the main house and the ‘Casita’. There is a large open plan lounge and dining area. The dining area is bright and spacious and includes a large dining table with seating for 20 guests. The lounge is comfortably furnished with sofas and coffee tables and quirky artwork on the walls.

The modern and spacious kitchen is fully equipped with everything necessary for your holiday. A breakfast bar provides a convenient place to eat or enjoy a glass of wine.

There are 9 en-suite guest rooms in total. 5 of the suites are located in the Masia (the main building) and 3 of these have direct access to all the public areas of the Masia and the other 2 have their own private entrance.

The other 4 suites are located in the Casita (bungalow) situated 20 meters from the main building. Each of these delightful suites has a private terrace with table and chairs and great views. All 9 suites have a private bath and/or shower, most suites offer both.

BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS

The rooms in Masia Casanova are named after the superb grapes from the local Penedes wine area: Xarello, Chardonnay, Mascabeu, Malvasia de Sitges, Merlot, Samos and Monasrell.

These charming suites are between 24m2 and 57m2 in size and all are decorated in a unique individual style. 
All guest rooms have air conditioning and under floor heating (the Casitas A/C only for heating and cooling), flatscreen TV’s with local and SAT channels. The TV in the living/dining room features local and SAT TV.

Casita

The bungalow offers 4 spacious and luxurious ‘casitas’, each with a private terrace and configured as follows:

Room 6 – 40 m2, 1 double bed 180cm x 210cm (cannot be separated), bath and shower, WC

Room 7 – 40 m2, 1 double bed 180cm x 200cm (cannot be separated), bath and shower, WC

Room 8 – 40 m2, 1 double bed 180cm x 200cm (cannot be separated), bath and shower, WC

Room 9 – 50 m2 with a kitchenette (2 cooking fields, fridge, sink, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine) 2 double beds 160cm x 200cm (cannot be separated), shower, WC.

The standard configuration for sleeping is 8 bedrooms with one King size bed (200/210cm x 180cm) and 1 bedroom with 2 King size beds (each 200cm x 160cm). We can add maximum of 4 single beds for an additional cost of Euro 50,–/person/ night. 2 babycots are available upon request for an additional cost.

– All guest rooms have flatscreen TVs with local and/or SAT TV, and the all bathrooms are equipped with hairdryers.

– On request the bedding configuration can be adapted to your needs. In some of the rooms a single bed can be added for an additional price of Euro 50,- /person/day.

– There are multiple TV’s, sound systems and iPod docking stations.

GARDENS & OUTSIDE SPACES

Without doubt, the main attraction of the beautiful outside spaces at Masia Casanova is the fantastic 15m x 7m salt water swimming pool and Jacuzzi with surrounding sun terraces and lawned area. Guests can wile away lazy summer days lounging on one of the many sun loungers arranged around the pool edge in complete privacy or enjoy the sunset over the Garraf Natural Park while sipping a cocktail in the Jacuzzi. 

Masia Casanova offers many amenities that you will usually only find in 5 star hotels including a salt water swimming pool with teak sun loungers for 18 guests, a state-of-the-art shaded pool house, a large outdoor dining area with views to the pool and surrounding mountains, an 8 person outdoor Jacuzzi (heated all year round) and even a steam sauna. 

With its beautifully landscaped terraces, the Masia offers plenty of space for guests to enjoy the outdoor Mediterranean lifestyle with many shady corners around the gardens offering private retreats for quiet contemplation out of the hot afternoon sun.

Feel free to wander the grounds during sunset. Eat a fresh orange from the many orange trees or pick almonds while enjoying the sweeping view over the surrounding hills and all the way to the sacred mountain of Montserrat.

The fantastic private swimming pool measures 15m x 7m and is between 0.5m and 2m deep. There are plenty of loungers around the pool on which to soak up the hot afternoon sun. The Jacuzzi has beautiful views of the surrounding hills and vineyards.

The outside spaces and amenities at Masia Casanova are perfectly set up for a fantastic holiday in the Catalan sun.

THINGS TO DO

There are so many ways to enjoy the days and nights at Masia Casanova but you’ll find so much to experience and enjoy in the local area if you can drag yourself away from the pool.

The bustling seaside town of Sitges is just a 10-minute drive away. Sitges has just about everything you need on a holiday: sandy beaches, cool bars, quality restaurants, fashionable boutiques, festivals, fireworks, culture, nightlife and élan. 

Why not visit a local winery such as Torres, Finca Viladellops or Torre del Veguer? The legendary Cava Houses of Freixenet and Cordoniu are not too far away and offer fascinating and insightful tours.

The wonderful cosmopolitan city of Barcelona with its world-class attractions is a 40-minute drive and can also be easily reached by train or bus.

For those looking for more energetic distractions the nearby Mediterranean coast with its golden sandy beaches and numerous marinas offers unlimited opportunities for water based sports and boat rentals. The house also has easy access to the Garraf Natural Park providing hundreds of kilometres of fantastic hiking and mountain bike trails right on your doorstep. There is a tennis club in the nearest town and several good golf courses in the area.

There is a choice of theme parks and attractions within an hour or so drive including Port Aventura, one of the biggest in Europe, as well as the new Ferrari Land attraction.
