MASIA MAS PIGOT – Penedès

INTERIOR

The interior of the Masia oozes historical Mediterranean charm with cool terracotta tiled floors, whitewashed walls and wooden beams. The Masia is accessed through a grand entrance that welcomes visitors into the large dining room that forms the centrepiece of the interior of this beautiful old farmhouse.

The dining area has a beautiful glass chandelier positioned above a large dining table that can comfortably seat 17 guests.The beautiful dining room is full of rustic charm and provides the perfect setting for families and groups to dine together in comfort.

The country style kitchen is set just off the dining room. The kitchen is practical, newly painted and is fully equipped with oven, 4-ring stove, microwave and fridge freezer. There is an extra storage room with an additional fridge freezer just off the dining room.

Off to the right of the dining area is a small day room with a table and chairs that can be used as additional dining space or simply as a space to relax and play games.

At the far end of the dining area is a small staircase leading up to the first of many bedrooms. This bedroom has a double bed and access to the second living room. Also on this floor are two further double bedrooms each with their own private bathrooms.

This part of the house can be used as a separate annex with its own access from an external door in the living room. The second living room features a 3-seater sofa, fireplace, table and chairs and leads out either to the front of the Masia or to a private patio area.

At the end of the dining area are stairs leading up to the first floor and a large and comfortable family living room. This beautiful room features an impressive chandelier, 3 comfortable sofas and a large open fireplace.

The dining area has many doors leading off to different parts of the Masia, there is also a bathroom that is convenient for the first double bedroom to use.

The first floor also features 4 double bedrooms (3 are en-suite), a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and a large bathroom. The remaining 3 double bedrooms and bathroom are located a few steps up from the dining room on the ground floor.

GARDENS & OUTSIDE SPACES

Masia Mas Pigot is set in a superbly privileged location with views across the valley to the stunning Montserrat Mountain and the Penedes vineyards.

Outdoor activity is focused at the front of the Masia with its large 8m x 4m private swimming pool featuring a retractable cover that extends the swimming season by several months.

The pool is surrounded by a large and attractive terrace complete with sunbeds providing ample space to soak up the sun.

There is also large covered terrace area with BBQ and a dining table with sufficient seating for all guests to enjoy alfresco dining while enjoying the stunning views across the valley.

Behind the BBQ area is a kids playroom that houses a table tennis table. There is plenty of space all around the Masia for the children to play and enjoy the outdoor Mediterranean lifestyle.

The Masia is accessed off the main road along a private gravel road. There is plenty of parking space around the Masia.

THINGS TO DO

Masia Mas Pigot provides a wonderful haven of peace and tranquillity amongst the rolling vineyards of the Penedes for large families or groups of friends to holiday together, as well as offering a wonderful space for celebrations and corporate gatherings. However, there is also so much to experience and enjoy in the local area for all members of the party.

Despite its peaceful setting the location of the masia makes it possible for guests to enjoy unlimited opportunities for outdoor activities with walking, hiking, mountain biking, horse riding and quad biking right on the doorstep.

Mas Pigot is located in the Parc Natural del Foix, and from the house there is a small path that leads to the Castell de Castellet. The walking route passes through picturesque vineyards and woods with typical Mediterranean vegetation. There are numerous walking trails in the immediate vicinity of the house that guests can enjoy.

Wine and cava tasting visits can be arranged at the numerous Bodegas (wineries) that surround the masia. The legendary Cava Houses of Freixenet and Cordoniu are close by and offer fascinating and insightful tours.

The wonderful cosmopolitan city of Barcelona with its world-class attractions is only a 45-minute drive. For those looking for more energetic distractions the nearby Mediterranean coast with its golden sandy beaches and numerous marinas offers unlimited opportunities for water based sports and boat rentals. 

There is a choice of theme parks and attractions within an hour or so drive including Port Aventura, one of the biggest in Europe. In the winter and spring the nearest ski resorts of the Pyrenees are within a 2-hour drive.
